D3 burning oil at idle

Hi all,
2.7 auto diesel . so when starting the car if parked up for a few days there is a huge amount of blue smoke, it will then clear during normal driving. However when idling for an extended period the smoke returns. Its definately oil being burnt. You can smell it when you stand to the rear of the car.
Fault code reader shows no faults.
Any idea as to where to start looking?? Any thoughts greatly appreciated. PS 170,000 miles

Are you using oil? Oil level is dropping?

Could be turbo seals leaking onto the charge side... could remove intercooler hose on that side to check for oil collecting in the hose which would then get blown into the combustion chamber and burnt
