Facelift D4 headlamps query

Hi experts.... Forgive my obvious ignorance on this matter, but I'm about to fit new D3S-type Xenon bulbs to my (9 years old) HSE Lux. It has the 'Adaptive' headlamps btw. What is the function of the inner lamps, ie the ones nearest the grille. No matter what light combination I turn on, they just don't do anything. They have what look like H7 bulbs in them. The main (outer) lamps do both dip & high beam. Bow down

The inner H7 ones come on with high beam (at least they do on mine).

Because Xenons take a while to heat up (a few seconds), the H7s act as your flash lamp (usually for the Censored that just brake-checked you) Rolling Eyes

Thumbs Up "Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

Current Ride: D4 XS Commercial Baltic Blue SDV6 fully loaded with heated everything Smile
Track Days: BMW E36 M3 Evolution MY 1996 (3.2 Litre 377 BHP sat in 1,250 Kgs of car, with a pro safety cage and some serious braking power) Smile

It goes where others don't.

Thanks for that, I hadn't thought of that. They are indeed indicator lights!
