SAD DAY!..looks like I've got to sell the D3!!Advice please |
|
Due to company car arrival....NOT a D3 ( Nissan Pathfinder Sport )...not enough allowance... !! I may well have to sell the D3....might be able to keep it as a second car but its looking doubtfull, saying that when I was looking at trading if for another, local stealers were just plain insulting! so maybe we will find a way. However, advice please chaps Dec2004 TDV6 SE Auto Plus LR Ipod dock, Twin Electrics and removable towbar, plus roofrails and cross bars ( courtesy of the large one! ) 57000 on the clock....Right I'm obviously going to get in serviced etc but what about the extended warranty?
Its got one at the min ex the dealers but as its under 60k and still within the 12 months of the current warranty I understand that I can purchase another year of the same extended warrenty as I have now. Looking for suggestions of who to get it from, I will of course check with the large one buts its not really parts so has anybody had any good offers on the LR extended warranty?
Then pricing, any suggestions? with the same warranty as a dealer?
Finally, I was planning on Auto trader, and prehaps Ebay!!! anybody had any experience of selling a D3 on ebay? or is it too risky.
Oh
Oh and finally I put this on here as I could'nt think of a better thread, but dont expect to see a for sale thread next week as given that if you are like me, you've already got a D3 so bit pointless advertising the whole car on here...lol...Now all I have to do is persude SWMBO that we really DO need two 4x4's...lol
thanks Im sorry...did I break your concentration?

The comment you will always get on here is keep it, but needs must at times.
Autotrader is okay, although I got more interest via the magazine rather than online. Ebay is also fine, just dont sell to a Nigerian who owes someone money in Holland
A bank draft or transfer prior to you handing over the keys is what is needed, just like selling on autotrader.
Another good place is on Pistonheads.com in the classified section. Free to advertise and a busy area of the net.
Not sure on price, have a look around and see what others are selling for with respective miles, condition, etc, then adjust your pricing accordingly

Perhaps a good 24 0r 48 hours prior to handover - see this thread and this one. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Sorry to hear your selling it. I have just asked about extended warranty on mine, there are 2 options. I was quoted £1055 for the one under 60k, this gives you full LR assist and everything the normal warranty covers. The second, over 60k was £885 but this doesnt cover things like bushes and perishables, not sure about LR assist with this either.
Also they will only actually allow you to take out the warranty a couple of weeks before the old one expires.
Hope this helps, good luck with the sale.

Not necessarily pointless - when the lease expires on mine, I'd consider buying used and I would be far happier buying from someone here rather than in the big wide world...
Just a thought.

Hi John,
Just as a curiosity, those 2 quotes are for 1 year or 3 years extended warranty?
Thanks so much Arno

If you are considering paying to extend your existing warranty, are you not flushing money down the toilet? It will add very little to the value of your car!
I sold my 54 HSE with 67k ex warranty for £16000 in p/ex against a 200 mile Audi A6 Estate which was discounted by £4500, 2 months ago for guidance. Book for normal mileage was £19000 apparently which surprised me - expected less.

I know all about being offered 16k for the car at 53k miles against another discovery 3! however looks as though range to sell at is from 19950 to 22950 in autotrader with the extras, working on getting the warranty in before the current one expires both as a selling point and and as a just in case I keep it......( cunning plan )
well off to see a customer today so its shades on for at least 4 hours of driving 8) sometimes life is soooo hard having to force myself out of the office and into the discovery Im sorry...did I break your concentration?
