I have a nokia E51 works great in the car but only shows the number calling and not the name how do you download the contacts to the car ?

Depends on MY you have. I think that it is possible to download phone's phonebook into the car from 08 onwards. On 07 there is PTI software update available from your dealer. Not sure if this is available to earlier cars though  D3 XS Manual - gone

It is available, but you have to pay for the software download, about 50mins at £65 per hour average!

OK so i pay my stealer for the software update does the car then automatically sync or do i have to push the phone book from the phone to the car ?

It doesn't sync - the car reads the phones phonebook via bluetooth
