Noticeable Juddering when accelaterating |
|
Meant to post this the other day.
On me way back from Scotland between Christmas and New Year, became aware of a juddering through the auto gearbox at around 30mph when accelarating smoothly. When past this and the D3 has gone up the next gear, all is ok, when decellerating, all is fine.
Its not the wheels, its definitely coming from the gearbox, more noticeable when pulling me car trailer.
Any ideas of what we might be looking at

Have you tried changing the auto box filter & fluid? Seem to recall on here that it had solved other auto box issues similar to this.

Chek out here:

There seems to be a few different views as to what causes it ....
torque converter... gearbox oil flush ... propshaft etc
No definate solution as yet though. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

I was quoted around £150 for this Gearbox flush, so not cheap.
But didn't go for it cos mine is so mild versus cost.
Plus dealer couldn't guarantee it would fix it.
I believe transmission oils shouild be replaced at 150k miles I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

I would be very interested in the outcome of this. I have checked everything previously mentioned, including propshaft, cv joints, drive shafts, wheel bearings, gearbox and engine mounts, and cannot see anything drastically wrong.

What sort of mileage have you done Character?
A friend experienced a similar thing, and changing the autobox fluid solved it, that was at much lower mileage though. 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +
2022 Tesla Model Y LR... almost Carpathian Grey
Previously : 2005 TDV6 SE Auto, Cairns Blue (288K) - ours for 16 years

As Gareth requested, can you keep us posted on solution to problem.
Price would be good to know too - if not actual, ballpark will do. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
