So they changed the transfer case fluid too?

Did they know something or just being sure?

Character,

If out of warranty (like me), roughly how much was it to get the works?

well, as I had previously bought the filter, washer for the drain plug, got an exceptional deal from TLO due to being the guinea pig so wouldnt like to say, but gearbox fluid is around £15.00 plus vat per litre x 15 litres (one for flush and one for re-fill) and no you cant use anything other then what the manufacturer says, a straight flush takes around 1 hour, to change the filter is longer coz you have to take off the cross member to get at it, recon if you guessimated at around 450 plus vat you'll not go wrong, pm TLO who will give yer a keen forum price, you can then decide whether you want the filter changed as well Thumbs Up

Thanks for that - I think I'll get the current suspension fault, wheel bearing & service done before we start anything else. Thumbs Up

I think any discount from the hounourable TLO would be outweighed with the 900 mile round trip Rolling with laughter

If changing the filter/pan, is it best to do that first with the first drain?

Or drain and refill first and then drain and change the filter?

Did they manage to change the sump pan in the end? last I heard was the crossmember was preventing them getting off due to a vertical pipe at the front of the pan

Just did a sump pan change and double flush on mine Mad The gtr info says to remove the 2 RH engine mount bolts and raise the mount 50mm to enable removal of the pan. Doesn't work Mad If you jack up a bit more it raises the whole vehicle Shocked You need to remove the bolt from the transmission mount at the rear of the gearbox on the rear cross member. Then it gives enough clearance Smile as there is a vertical tube in the sump pan on the RH side about 8cm long. After the double flush the rough and hesitant changes disappeared Razz After an arduous of road trip I examined the oil and it was still a bit dark so I did a drain and refill with engine running Exclamation I had just done 80,000km so it is advisable to check oil at 60,000km if you do "High speed driving, Heavy towing or High temperature driving" (ZF web site but they advise 80-120,000km)
