Sat Nav screen colour change

Sorry if this has been covered but i cannot find it.
Only when following route guidance i have noticed that the background colour on the info boxes on the screen flicks from one colour (sandy) to another (metal). These are the same two colours you can pick in the set up. After much studying on a long journey i have come to the conclusion that the background colour changes when the screen dims and the flicking between two colours is caused as you drive under trees etc in dull weather and the screen dims and brightens again in as it tries to keep up with the light stobe effect coming through the trees, clouds, bridges etc.Is this normal for it to change colour as it dims as if it didnt you would not notice the screen dimming but as it stands now i find it catches my eye every time it changes. Question

Have you noticed if yours changes the background colour on the info boxes as it dims? as this makes it a bit pointless asking which colour you want in set up and it is only really the colour change that catches my eye. Thanks for the quick ansa as i thought my post sounded confusing.

My background changed to green when I went to Wales. Confused On the return journey though it was the normal sandy colour.
