Hello,
I've got a load of music that I bought through iTunes and a load of music I've imported from CD. iTunes won't allow me to convert the bought AAC music to MP3 so that I can create an MP3 disc to play in the car. I can however convert the imported AACs (from CDs) to MP3 and burn an MP3 disc in iTunes.
Does anyone know a workaround for the AAC issue so that I can stick music I've bought through iTunes onto a data disc to play in the car?
Thanks,
John

Mac Shmacc! I've seen it done on Mac i-tunes, but can't remember if that was burnt to disc as a CD first & then re-imported as MP3 or not, but couldn't advise further. AAC's defianately won't play as I've tried it.... Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks anyway - useful to know about the AACs in the D3. Hadn't thought of exporting then re-importing. Might give that a go if nothing more elegant turns up. Thanks. 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Get a different MP3 player so you don't have to convert all your music in the first place? Disco 5 HSE Lux

ISTR the cheat way is to burn the songs to audio cd's then re-import as MP3, however if you google around there are loads of file converter programs out there that let you rip the AAC stuff to MP3. Can't reccomend any as I thought about it but couldn't be bothered as I now just plug the ipod into the AUX socket 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Hi John,
Somewhat delayed response I know - recently joined the site and just come across your question. If you open iTunes on your Mac and go to preferences, then advanced you will see three buttons at the top. Click burning and you can set your preferences there - audio CD, MP3 CD or data CD or DVD.
I just set audio CD and a gap of 2 seconds and that's it - works a treat!
