Frozen Rear Wiper

OK, so LR have made a wonderful heated rear window, but the element doesn't go down to around where the Rear Window Wiper parks.

I had thought of getting one of those old 3rd party 'heated rear window kits' and trying to modify it to fit on the area the wiper sits. Wondered whether 'cutting down' a kit that was made for a whole window to an area of 18" x 3" might cause problems of overheating/melting of the little silver strips.

Has anyone come up with any ideas on how to overcome this problem?

FBH? This could heat the whole car and defrost all glass before you start to drive, a remote controlled unit or a timer would be excellent. I really will go now. Embarassed

I thought the same, however the element DOES go down to where the rear wiper parks Very Happy According the LR it is just that it is concealed within the black coloured part of the glass so is not readily visible. Only way to test though will be to wait for a freezing morning & switch on the rear heater to see what actually defrosts Wink
