Hi all,
Just stumbled upon this forum, after getting a MY08 V6 SE a month and a half back.
Anyway, just thought that I should look at servicing options (without voiding warranty) when I hit 12K some time later. Any good soul with advice for good, reasonably cheap and reliable servicing workshops (apart from dealers) in Melb, Vic is much appreciated.
Thanks, and looking forward to a rewarding time with my new ride.

I only know there are three dealers, two of which belong to the same parent company. Doesn't seem exist any competition between them.
beyond official dealer?... don't know, won't try either.

Is it for the 12K mark? And does it include oil and filter? Or what does it include? Thanks.

I have seen ads that seem to indicate that performing the logbook servicing with them will not void the manufacturer's warranty. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this....

Les Richmond Automotive (LRA) in Thomastown are pretty good. They advertise on 4WD TV. They installed my Kaymar rear bar, auxillary tank, spotties and my front parking sensors in my ARB bar. They do services as well. Disco 3, Gold TDV6 HSE, rear e diff, kaymar rear bar, ARB bullbar with front parking sensors, Warn winch, 110L auxiliary tank, dual battery, GME UHF, Lightforce spotties, Cooper ST's, LR snorkel, Expedition roof rack.

Just remember dealers tend to be more helpfull and flexible with warranty issues if your car is serviced with them. They are more expensive but with warranty issues you get something in return. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I believe the best non dealer in Australia is Ritter Automotive.
the service, advise I have had from them is second to none.
I have had issues with the front end and the dealers were not able to diagnos?
Ritter have sent part to me last year when I was in Kununara WA and there attention to detail is great.

Dickie Nee - great to see such passion. I have used Ritter's before and found them to be very good. My preference these days outside of MLR where I've had very good service, is Range Rov in Mitcham. I know they are now servicing a few D3s, and have ex LR dealer trained staff too.
I tend to use the dealers more when the vehicel is in warranty, as it makes it easier to get good service/be looke dafter if warranty items do come up - but I will probably use Range Rov for my next scheduled service anyway...
cheers,

GME 3200 UHF - aerial mounted on wheel carrier ; LR roof rails/cross bars; Autosafe cargo barrier, Safari Snorkel; Traxide - aux battery; ARB bull bar with Tigerz11 winch; Lightforce 240 XGT driving lights (mitchell bros tow hitch to come)
