Wranglers and Scorpions on the same axle?

I have half worn Wranglers (18s) on the motor and a brand new Wrangler spare. I have a set of 18s with half worn Scorpion Zeros in the garage. The idea was to run the Wranglers down and replace them with a set of ATs then alternate between the set of new ATs and the set of Scorpions.

One of the Wranglers has been losing 10lbs of pressure over the course of about a week and I had it checked out at a tyre place. They found four punctures in it (all small screws) and wouldn't repair it. Put the new Wrangler spare on to get me home. This temporarily left me with a half worn Wrangler and a brand new Wrangler on the back end which isn't a good idea.

I'd rather not have to buy a new Wrangler for the back end because that would probably put pay to my idea of having a set of new ATs and a set of road tyres. My Scorpions have the same tread depth as the part worn Wranglers - their tread pattern looks fairly similar. Whilst not ideal, is there a problem if I have one Wrangler and one Scorpion on the back end? Question

For an emergency then yes... for normal use... IMHO I would say no. Never mix tyres on an axle, different tread pattern (even though they may look the same), different compound (will behave differently in the wet and dry - in the wet most importantly).

As its your safety involved and not the D3's (although both are linked of course when driving) I would say spend the money on a new tyre to match the rest of them.

I've had both Wrangler and Scorpions, they behave and feel quite different. Also wear differently too.

Happy to be proved wrong here of course.
