DVD control from LR touchscreen
Hi All,
I've currently got a DVD headunit located in boot, fed into two headrest monitors. Its a pain to change the DVD for the kids on the move (particularly, if the boots full!).
Is it possible to locate the DVD in the front glovebox and control it from the SatNav touchscreen?
Regards,
Paul

I should say that I only need to view the DVD output on the Touchscreen (to view menus etc.). Its ok to control the headunit itself via the remote.
Thanks again!

Depends on how small the dvd player is ..or how willing you are to chop out some of the glovebox
Mine fits in the top ok
Does your existing dvd player not have a remote eye ?
I have a freeview tv box hidden in the boot and use the remote eye to control it from the front

Dvd etc can be connected to the sat nav screen ..although unless your a software hacker you wont be able to use the touch screen part of the screen to select menus on your dvd playerG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks - that's really helpful.
It does have a magic eye, but its not useful when the menus on the headrest monitors arent visible. Ideally, I'd like to put the headunit in the glovebox (and you've shown me this is possible) and hook this up to the touchscreen as a 3rd monitor output to operate via remote. How is straightforward is this?

Paul ,
Its pretty straightforward , you just need some SMB connectors for the back of the sat nav screen .
You will also need to access the diagnostic mode to switch it on ( takes about 10 seconds)
