Hi all
Sorry I was out of circulation due to a heap of reasons.
Saturday all was fine Sunday it went woopy when switching it on HDC not available, Transmission selection is not available came up in the center screen. The esclamation light under the fule instrument and the stability light was on amber and the HDC light was flickering. Result: cant select low range and the gearbox switches only at 3800 rpm and the suspension stays in access mode.
Some threads pointed to a faulty battery, that was not the case. So Tuesday I dropped it of at Jan at LR got a 2008 TDV6S I was a bit ….. electric seats all that I found different was 17†and no computer.
Note if you have a system error try this, rev it to 2000 RPM switch it off and on quick so that you don’t need to “strartâ€
Result: All error lights are off the gearbox responds normal just low range can’t be selected.
The error was found, the contacts on the gearbox ECU has corroded and new ECU has been ordered will get it back on Thursday.
Here comes the part that with my mind, both the master and gearbox ECU resides behind the battery or lets say between the battery and the fire wall. The main ECU plug and connector points down yet the gearbox ECU points up, there is a rubber sleeve over the connector and cable harness but it is not water proof if water gets on the cable harness it runs into the ECU. The harness is not long enough to turn it around. I think some silicone will do the trick.
OK for those that have always got some to say about LR, it did not go into limp mode I drove it to the dealer. White LR3 TDV6 2007
