I got caught in Austria 2 years ago but as i was in a rental whome the primary driver who i had met there was from Australia he got the notice 4 months later. We thought they wouldnt bother with an Ausy but did 2 months later with a 20 Euro fine which i paid immediately. The reason I payed it was because my Mate got a letter from Norway for a similar offence and chucked it in the bin Twice. He then got a third letter informing him he had been Banned from ever driving in Norway. Ok as long as he doesnt get caught again there or wants to rent a car there.

So just to close this one down, I've decided to go the Road Angel Pro...
I've got the factory Sat Nav so I've decided against buying something that covers lot of bases but maybe not mastering any. My key requirements are for camera (etc) warning capability and a rechargeable battery
I've decided to stick with what I know; and I know that Road Angel are the best for "road safety" features and I'm going for the Road Angel Pro.
If anyone is interested I can post my thoughts in a couple of days once its here and up and running.
Thanks for the responses guys...

I totally agree the eyes method is the best however from time to time you may need a little reminder
Reason behind a stand alone system is the updates on Road Angel are more uptodate than the Garmin / Tom Tom systems
The new RAC unit claims to have live data via gsm updates which in theory sounds great practise may be different only time and testing will tell
