Replacing diesel filter - Advice needed please |

Hi
I've searched throught the forums trying to find a sort of 'How-To' guide of replacing the diesel filter yourself on a 2006 model TDV6, but came up empty .... or have dodgy search skills
I realise there is high pressure involved, so I'm trying to find out if this can be done as a DIY job, and if so does anyone have instructions and/or photos of such ... ? Ideally the official LR workshop instructions if someone has them Also not sure which tools may be required ... ?
It seems to have changed from 2007 models on, but I have the 2006.
After finding the cost to be R1200 for a new filter, not too keen to pay stealer rates to fit as well
Any help will be appreciated

I bought a filter from Midrand for about R700 . ISTR that the 2007 onwards was more expensive . So first things first make sure you have been given the correct one . The 2006 is a bigger filter than the 2007 . I will check the part number tonight if you like . As far as replacing it , I think I have the GTR pages at home as well . PM your email adress

make sure you don't fit the pipes round the wrong way...Label them if necc
had alsorts of issues with incorrect fitment and running problems further down the line diagnosed to incorrect pipework on the filters TLO has left the building.......

Did you require any special tools ? And is the high pressure thing a problem as I suspect ? suppose the info Heine is going to supply will discuss all this ...? What do you mean it won't go there ?

The high pressure side is on the engine it's self, not near the filter
There should be 4 x pipes which just clip in, you press the release clip and pull off. As per
TLO make a drawing of the lay out and note the colour of each pipe clip or apply masking
tape and mark your self. STD tools. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

I see that they suggest fuel system bleed ...
"9 . Bleed the fuel system.
For additional information, refer to Low-Pressure Fuel System Bleeding (19.50.07)"
Does anyone know if this is necessary as there seems to be opinion that turning the ignition on and off a couple of times should suffice. Just concerned that this will not get rid of excessive air in the fuel system, such as the tool in the above doc implies. What do you mean it won't go there ?
