Unrecognised symbol in Driver Info screen
I was doing some greenlaning at the weekend and on two occasions while negotiating some ruts a 'symbol' appeared in the driver information screen.
I've not been able to find an explanation in the owner's manual so maybe someone can help.
I was in low range, mud & ruts when what appeared to be a symbol showing something like this flashed up:
|--O--|
followed later by:
\--O--\
Any takers on what this referred to and what degree of panic I should have felt? I'm guessing it was to do with the diff?
As a complete off-road novice I guess I was doing something wrong?
Cheers....I see no ships........

looks like the display was telling you which direction your wheels were facing
Select same setting when your next in your car and put the wheels into full lock, it should replicate the display

It's an indication of steering angle - only active when TR is in a mode other than 'General', the idea is so that you know what direction the wheels are pointing

Its your front wheel position.
I cant remember whether it shows upto a certain speed or "n" seconds after selection, the former i think.Duncan

Stays on as long as TR is in a programme other than 'general' - although in sand mode @ 35mph it's a bit too busy to look at it

It shows in any TR mode (except normal) whilst in low-range and when the steering is not pointing straight ahead.
It comes on when you turn your wheels to either side and then cancels as soon as your wheels are pointing straight. I think it's unaffected by speed.
I guess it looked like this:

Once the wheels return to straight it indicates this for a couple of seconds then disappears

Gents - you are all stars
It was exactly as shown and I was doing exactly as described.
Nice to know I was doing nothing wrong (except having a bucket load of fun...!).
When I get chance I'll post some pictures - nothing wild just topping up the permagrin I see no ships........
