In the same sort of vein of question. I have the rear park sensor fitted. Can I buy the front sensors and wire them up. Is the loom already there to accept them and is the loom in the dash ready for the switch.HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

I have read on here that if you have rear parking sensors then YES you can retrofit front, just plug n play. you will find the unused front PDC plug behind/underneath o/s headlight. However this does need to be enabled and LR wont do it, a few guys on this site will as they have the kit. Try pm to slimer, he will know more

Cheers
for the quick response. I've had the D3 a couple of weeks and I still can't get used to parking it. I end up miles from anything for fear of trashing the front end.
Will price up the parts and then look at PMing the relevant people.
Why won't LR enable them? Or will they do it if they fit the kit?HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

Mark - Why not reverse park if you are having trouble. Alternatively get your bearings on the front by going to a set of empty spaces. Drive into a space and adjust the car so that the front is the desired distance from the front of the space. Now sitting in your usual driving position look at the white line crossing the front of the space to the right of you. There will be a gap of xxx CM or inches between the white line and the bottom of your door mirror casing. REMEMBER the size of this gap.
Now to prove the theory go park in another space and move forward to get the same gap - you will be the same distance from the front of the space.

Didn't think of that. That is how I was taught to reverse around corners, puting a small mark in the rear window to cheat on my driving test..
Perhaps I'll try this method before throwing loads of money at my D3. That way the wife can't moan to much.
Nick. A price list would be good so I have something to aim for if I do carry it out.
I suppose I'm just not used to such a big vehicle. I can drive small tanks at work and throw company LR around but when it comes to my D3 I'm not so sure footed.HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

Any LR can easily do it using IDS.....whether or not they can be arsed to 'dig a little deeper' is another question, which is where a good independant such as TFC is your best bet.
I seem to remember (when my local LR dealer activated my retrofit front PDC without any problems ) that the choices are the following:
1. REAR ONLY
2. FRONT AND REAR
3. NEITHER FITTED
4. UNDEFINED
I hope this helps,
