replacement cable for iPod Connectivity Kit?
I fitted my LR3 with the iPod connectivity kit (the older model that uses the cradle). Since I've got an iPhone that won't fit in the cradle and I wanted my iPhone to sit right under the ashtray, I dissassembled the cradle and now have just the plug end. Works great, it just doesn't look all that pretty.
I'm seeing now that the newer iPod kit comes with a proper cable connection instead of the cradle. Anybody know if it's possible to get just a replacement cable for the kit without having to buy a whole new kit? I'm assuming the guts of the kit haven't changed...just the cable that goes to the iPod?2013 LR4 HSE lux | Santorini Black | 5.0 V8
The Dension (they make the LR kit) Active Cradle should do the job but they come in 8 & 9 pin versions so check how many pins are on the other end of the cable that comes with the LR kit first
Was going to buy one for mine as my cradle is on the way out but Ken kindly told me he's got a spare cradle I can have The End

thanks for the info. Two possibly dumb questions though:
1. The active cradle from Dension you speak of. A quick google search shows it as a whole unit. Do the cable and cradle come as separate parts? I'm not looking for another cradle...just a cable with a proper plug/connector on the end
2. How does one count the pins on a connector? Do you count the wires going into the connector? EDIT: I just realized you're probably talking about the other end of the cable that plugs into the unit, not the ipod...in which case, i do know how to count those pins.
(and 3: perhaps you know someone else who has an extra cable they'd like to 'give away' )2013 LR4 HSE lux | Santorini Black | 5.0 V8
1. As the cradle doesn't have the clip on the top like the one that comes with the LR kit you shouldn't have any trouble getting the iPhone in, though as they make the kit presumably Dension do a cable only version anyway so it's just a matter of tracking it down
2. Yes, the other end
3. NopeThe End

If you find out the answer, can you let me know which cable as I have done exactly the same with my kit. I bought the dension cable but it had a different no of pins on the end.
Can't remember where it is otherwise I'd count th enumber of pins in the dension one and give you the part number so you know which it isn;t!.
i'm waiting on an engineer at Land Rover to confirm a seperate part numer for te new cable. he replacement cable then should be able to once i have it i will post it on the forum as this should be a nice upgrade to the older kitTLO has left the building.......
