Are these 9" wide?
I do realise that these RRS wheels will fit my D3 but I am told that these are 9" wide vs my standard D3 HSE 19" 7 spoke wheels that are only 8" wide. (or so I'm being led to beleive.
Is this correct?? and if so then will the standard 255 55 19 Wranglers fit the 9" rim ok or should I be looking to go slightly wider ie 265 50 19? Will the wider tyre foul on the suspension components? Does anyone have these wheels?
(oh and before you ask I'm getting 2 sets of 19"wheels one for off road and the other for street...)
Any advice on this style of wheel will be appreciated.

I've done exactly what you're thinking about and it works fine. I suggest you put the road tyres on the 9" rims, as they hold the sidewall out more, and probably make it more likely to damage sidewalls on rough roads. I have MTRs on the original 8" wide rims. I use both all the time (trailer has the MTRs on it when on the highway, then swap the MTRs on to the D3 before heading off into the limestone.Jim Dowell - D4 HSE TDi, 12,000 hydraulic winch & hidden winch mount, MTRs, TyreDog, Traxide 2 x aux battery system, fixed air compressor, Dolium roof rack, MitchHitch.

The size is marked in the casting, but I think they are 9.5" x 19, the same as the previous version of this RRS rim. I've normal (Scorpions and Wranglers previously) 255/55x19 tyres on these, and they are fine.

Hi DingMark, I have seen your gallery and see exactly what you mean, although you have the slightly diff style wheel (V5 I think!)/. Either way it is exactly what I was thinking about.
BTW has anyone in Aus had any experience buying from ABI Wheels on Ebay? They sound OK but I can't see what I'm buying as I'm iin Melb...
Cheers and thanks for the advice...What's the point.... it all comes out in the wash anyway!

Slight error on my part.. I have the 6 spoke 19" wheels shown above, (which are just like yours DingMark). So the info posted earlier is still correct and I guess that they are 8" wide and the RRS that I am looking at buying are 9" wide.
It is interesting that LR would make a diff wheel width in the same size? Is there any fouling of the wheel with any suspension components considering the extra inch width? or are the offsets slightly different to compensate for the wider rim? What's the point.... it all comes out in the wash anyway!

Hi Al,
I did read your response and that of others, and agree to what has been suggested.
I just find it strange that they would make a different width rim in the same size diameter.

Mobyone.
I just purchased a set of FFRR wheels as per your post from Abi and experienced no problems. They were promptly delivered to Brisbane. I'm now trying to MTRs to fit. I'm on the lookout for another set (to fit to my trailer).
