You can't overtake a school bus when the kids are getting off, you can turn at a red light at most junctions too.
Don't worry about the gators I've had them at my feet when I was bass fishing scared the out of me and it, I don't know who moved fastest Airboat rides at Cooper Town were great, small boats, they used to throw marshmallows in for the gators - they aren't allowed to do that anymore!

Pelyma missed a significant word out of his post : you can turn RIGHT at a red light.
It is banned at some junctions though.Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

Beware - you MUST stop on both sides of the road, the signals on the buses don't just affect its own carriageway.Cheers

Yep, look for the small white "No turn on RED" signs suspended from the overhead traffic lights, also many junctions prohibit turning right on red when pedestrians are present.Cheers

As simonsi says, right turn on red is allowed unless there's a sign saying not or pedestrians crossing. (we should have that rule for left as well).
Overtaking either side is ok on the freeways (another good rule we need to import)
Never drive past a school bus if the red lights are flashing or stop sign is out, in either direction.
The biggest confusion for UK drivers usually comes from 4-way stops, usually sighted at cross roads. All drivers must stop and then priority is given in the order in which you approached the junction - ie if you got there first you go first etc.
A new rule in Florida which is catching out many people just now (and proving to be a nice little earner) is that when passing an emergency vehicle, that's stopped on a multi-lane highway or the hard shoulder, you must now give a clear lane between yourselves for safety. ie. if there's a police car on the hard shoulder - don't go past in lane 1 next to him or you will be fined! move over to give him an empty lane between.
One other thing I noticed, it seems to be the law for most drivers to drive with one hand while clamping a phone to their face obscuring as much of the view as possible. No driver is allowed to look beyond the vehicle in front or anticipate what the traffic ahead is doing, which leads to some amazing pile-ups.
The standard of driving in Florida was abysmal, but it's easy for us Brits to cope with because we're used to junctions and bends and parking etc. Just as long as you drive defensively and don't assume they've seen you!

Should also have mentioned that the German area in Epcot is the place to go for lunch while you're there.
Quote:
An indoor German "courtyard" featuring a German Oktoberfest buffet. Items include a variety of German sausages, sauerbraten, and red cabbage. At mealtime, yodelers, dancers and other lederhosen-clad musicians perform an Oktoberfest dinner show.
Beer is excellent - sausages are fantastic, and the waitresses have the traditional low cut Bavarian costumes on, if you know what I mean... 08 LR3 SE V8 - 02 D2 SE7 V8
