I noticed in the Maintenance and Modifcations forum that there is a recall of certain 2007 VIN's for the fuel pump. My dealer in Windhoek knows nothing about it yet my VIN appears to be in the range quoted:
LA412125-LA419315 and LA431312-LA439039
Anybody hear anything about this? I want my R16k back that LRSA refused to honour a warranty claim on this issue.
Since I have had all the fuel line parts replaced, the Landi has been just great! Just wish they had sorted it out in an honourable manner. Frontrunner roofrack and ladder. Optima yellow top. National Luna dual battery system. Bridgestone Dueler D694 A/T.

Just to make sure I have the facts before taking on the mighty LRSA -
Vin no. is the number starting with SALLAA.......... and at some stage there is a 7 indicating vehicle was manufactured in 2007, then an A and then the rest ?
So it is numbers with 7A and not LA ? Erstwhile - D3 S '07. Dual battery system. Upgraded tow hitch. Mantec skid plate. Frontrunner rr. Tmax double headed built in compressor

SAL LA A A x y z A bbbbbb
where:
x = engine
y = transmission
z = model year (MY)
bbbbbb = serial number (or VIN number if you like)
The model year does not necessarily refer to the year the car was produced, just the current specificaction at the time. In other words a MY06 is probably sold from October 2005 to September 2006, whilst a MY07 is probably sold from October 2006 up to September 2007.
The 4th and 5th digits refer to the model. In this case LA means Discovery 3. LS refers to the RRS.
The dealers often use an abbreviated form to show that a TSB action refers to a particular model with a particular VIN/Serial number range.
The 'short-hand' way of doing this is just to use LA followed by 123456 to show that it's a Discovery 3.
So......LA412125 means a D3 with the serial number 412125 - the model year isn't stated in this shortened version, however as they numbers are always consecutive it isn't needed.
If you have a D3 and the 6-digit serial number is in the range, then you are affected by the TSB regardless of whether your D3 is a MY07 or MY08.
Hope this helps 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Seems like posts are floating all over the wrong threads - hope this is the correct one
Paid a visit to Waterford - only heard this morning that there could be a TSB (what does this mean btw ?) on the fuel pump - probably from Attacama .
When I showed them the post from Spain - they reckoned that it means nothing in their lives as , after all , we live in SA
Where can one obtain the official TSB ?
Attacama - according to techy who worked on your vehicle they first replaced the filter - then saw that problem was still there and then replaced the pump.
Would'nt give me your vehicles vin nr and your vehicle was out being tested when I was there Erstwhile - D3 S '07. Dual battery system. Upgraded tow hitch. Mantec skid plate. Frontrunner rr. Tmax double headed built in compressor

Sorry - I don't know the TSB number. If I find out I'll let you know.
IMPORTANT - It seems that LR España are now instructing dealers to stop changing the high-pressure fuel pump for some reason - even if the vehicle is covered by the TSB.
I don't yet know the reason why or have a copy of the official bulletin, but if there are so many people having problems with this part, why would they suddenly decide to stop changing it?
Does this ring a bell with anybody? 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
