just got back from Sainsbuiry's first time I have seen the back of the Disco in the light and from afar only to spot the spare wheel has been nicked. Winch cable and the bit where the bolt goes looks in perfect condition, so someone who knows what they are doing. Phoned Sturgess in Leicester to see how much they would charge and they tell me they are having a bit of a run on replacement spare wheels at the moment - although I haven't found any recent threads to indicate this is the case. Anyone else lost a spare?
Have a few ideas where mine has gone from, as car is not parked up in many places, but all are carparks that have CCTV and are meant to be secure!! 11 HSE Santorini Black

This seems to be occuring more frequently nowadays . I think someone on here was looking into a modification to help deter the bleeders ...but I don't know what came of it
For now ..leaving it in access mode is the first line of defence 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

If it all looks in good condition, are you sure it was there in the first place?

If it's all there as tfc says - that doesn't add up. Theft to my knowledge involves something being missing. (not posting for obvious reasons).
If everything is there and wound all the way in, that would indicate spare used and not replaced, cable hanging loose for some time would have caused some interesting "clangs" and knocks from under the car whilst driving along "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Thought about looping a good bike lock through mine and chassis rail, but if they come prepared - i'm just going to loose a lock too "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

How old is the car? Have you ever changed a tyre?
First time I got a flat I found the spare had a tyre with15,00 km of wear a gouge out of the side and a chunh out of the rim.
Dealer gave me a new one, so maybe yours wasn't supplied? If it is all there and wound back up it looks suspicious. They would have had to have got inside to steal it. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I looked at mine and couldn't figure out a way to lower the winch from below. But He, I am not a thieve I think, and so I don't have the right way of thinking to find that out Roel

I agree!
It's not been at your dealers since you last noticed it ... has it? ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

The 'traditional' method for D3 spares to be stolen involves a pair of bolt cutters

The tealeaves would have left it dangling on the road anyway.
Evidence of dealer involvement is stacking up. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

no this is genuine theft - or the thing dropped off. Washed the car two weekends ago and it was definately there, not been far enough away in the light to notice the gapping hole since. Strange thing is the winch wire is still very taught and the bracket thing the bolt must screw into looks complete, going to have a look at how one is fitted as really can't understand how this was taken off - and no strange noises either 11 HSE Santorini Black
