Hi All
I was put onto these guys by a friend of mine . They have apparently done D3's before. The cost is R2600 installed . I'm probably getting mine done next week
Any comments before I go ahead

I for one would be most interested to see your comments as this appears to be a reasonable cost for protecting the motor. Since I have the entire fuel line replaced plus replaced an injector, the vehicle is running outstandingly well and I don't want to spoil the moment. Still replacing the fuel filter every 12 000km's though.
I see they have done an installation on an M5 which is apparently even more sensitive than the Disco 3's. I suppose what's good for a BMW is good for the Disco 3?
Please also get the specs (i.e. part number) of the unit you will be installing.
Obviously pics are a minimum requirement of your feedback! Frontrunner roofrack and ladder. Optima yellow top. National Luna dual battery system. Bridgestone Dueler D694 A/T.

Oh, and whether there is a reduction in performance of course, like turbo lag etc. Frontrunner roofrack and ladder. Optima yellow top. National Luna dual battery system. Bridgestone Dueler D694 A/T.

They can supply the whole set up as a kit - but no warranty if they do not fit .

Unit looks quite big - where do they fit it on the D3. How often do you have to replace/clean filter Erstwhile - D3 S '07. Dual battery system. Upgraded tow hitch. Mantec skid plate. Frontrunner rr. Tmax double headed built in compressor

IMHO it should be good for what it was designed for, however I
don't think it will work for what we want it to do.
The spec sheet says:
1) Not to be used for a high flow system
2) My interpretation of the flow/pressure chart @ 0.5 bar
you have a flow of 0.5 lt/min and as pressure increases,
flow does also. So the D3 does 0.5 bar, and if memory serves
right , flow @ 70tl/hr or 1.1 lt/min
3) Must be mounted after a suitable water trapping pre-filter
Pro's for:
1) Good price.
1) Can filter out very fine particles.
Pro's against:
1) Will not remove the water which has gone through first
filter. Water is a killer in diesel injection systems.
2) Flow rate If I am wrong here correct me.
3) I don't think LR will give it the if fitted to a vehicle
still under warranty in the required position.
4) No cost saving on filters.
5) The STD LR filter still has to do all the work, where we have the
problem in the first place.
So food for thought

Assuming it filters down to .5 mike - even if it is past the std filter , surely this will still protect high pressure pump , injectors etc .

It will catch the solids to 5 micron, but the finer you go, the
slower the flow, then bigger the filter gets to maintain the
required flow. The question is, what in the fuel is causing
the damage, and the most likely culprit is water then solids,
and then the guys who dilute it with cheep crap to make a buck.
All these snoty gogos grow from condensation in big tanks,
who not do a big volume turn overs, trucks who do not keep
their tanks topped up etc. IMO reading the posts, the majority
of problems stem from water related issues here. So my
concern with this new system would be the water issue, thus
my response, now if they do a water repelant one, I will
hide in the corner and D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

So we need a physically large filter with a fine filtering capacity that can seperate water and be fitted between the LR filter and the lp pump in the tank? Sounds easy enough..
