Pity that with all their expertise they cant steer LR to get the Bluetooth figured out!
Be a good opportunity to fire some "zingers" at them. They won't be able to answer them undoubtedly!

Interesting, I get an answerphone message from 'Jim', but I will take my letter and attend anyway. What would be useful is if we can compile a logical list of problems and defects plus of course the good points for me to take. I obviously know most, but maybe Martin can help with some stats as I am the worst of all on a computer, cannot even get Broadband yet??

The TWO biggest issues, apart for various in the field failures which LR MUST resolve, are the features which are either not present, or provided ina semi-available half hearted fashion.
1. The full bluetooth PTI for dealer fit, which is currently not available, only now available asfactory fit!!!,. This is unacceptable as LR "sold" it to us from launch , and those of us with vehicles from then wish to have the full blown product. LR are fobbing us off with an inferior dealer fit version, which is unacceptable!
2. The legendary pre-heater/cooler non-functioning timer. We all want it, have it, but it doesn't work - need I say any more!! Also, related to this is a remote control available solution, but not so critical.
I for one wish to see both issues above resolved in timely fashion. For such a well developed vehicle and we all agree it is very good, LR have not spend enough time on the finishing touches or availabilty of the whole gamut of aftersales options ala PTI.

I hope to be wrong, but I’m worried that we might be raising our hopes a bit too high. I went to one of these run by a company (may even have been the same one) on behalf of MG Rover a few years back. It wasn’t a free forum where you could voice your concerns, but rather it was a “hello, here’s loads of free drinks and biscuits, now sit down in front of that computer over there and work your way through the on-line questionnaireâ€, the questionnaire being the fairly usual “rate such-and-such between 1 and 9†etc.
So there’s not really any facility to complain about the cabin pre-heater issue, nor is there anyone from the vehicle manufacturer in attendance, and the research company certainly aren’t there representing the manufacturer – they’re just carrying out market research; the researchers were probably doing the same for Persil Automatic yesterday and will be doing Dell Computers tomorrow.
I understand that they also take quite a bit of care over who the invite to these things to ensure they get an even balance of people, so they would probably be reluctant to let others participate as it would bias their results – e.g. if you open these things up to everyone, the only people that will probably come are those with issues, so you end up with a distorted picture.
As I say, I could be wrong and this may be something totally different. However, this was my experience with the MG Rover research (and look what happened there )

I agree with Big Al. Few other comments:- on the bluetooth issue as he says this was "sold" to us from launch - indeed I have copy marketing literature that infers the Disco3 was "bluetooth enabled" (as standard) - effectively LR have benefited marketing wise from features that they have not delivered on.
Perhaps take a print out of the Faults & Issues section of this site (Martin can perhaps advise how to produce this in a printable format?).
Also, a 3rd major issue that I would add:- LR CS (or lack of it) - if there is one thing that LR could do to help the situation it would be to allocate specified members of their CS team, train them properly on the Disco3 issues, and as soon as an owner has an issue, escalate it from the normal frontline CS people to these "specialists" & give them authority to resolve problems!
Who is going to go to this meeting? - would be useful to have a definite volunteer from the established team on the forum, clarify what issues they will raise on behalf of the forum members & even have a whiparound fopr their expenses if need be - comments/colunteers?

I would have been pleased to attend but now the 0800 number is out of service !
I would add to Ecosse's comments;
Error messages caused by, low battery voltage needing battery to be replaced - this could be a long term on-going issue.
The fact that several vehicles have had corroded harnesses (which is not acceptable on a new vehicle)
Fuel consumption (I was approached this morning by a chap who asked what MPG I got (18-22mpg), He was very very disapointed on a manual box!)
BUT Nightfox might be right and we could be raising our hopes in vain.
Maybe the time is right for a coordinated series of letters to og off to the right director just to let them know that we love the car, but the service could be a bit more respectful
