loss of power under normal acceleration? |
|
Over the last 72hrs I have noticed my D3 has started to lose power on accleration, pulling out of junctions etc when in a low gear. Its a 54 plate TdV6 Auto. Any idea's of where I could investigate before I consult LR or a specialist.
There is no warnings or errors coming up, just a lack of power, then a sudden accleration. MAF sensor, blocked fuel filter? Any suggestions guys?
Thx

Nope not in GGS, just run it round the block to check and it is as "normal". Normal at the moment is the suspension compressor is faulty and therefore no special programs avaliable or change in height. new one arrived today from Nick LR I am fitting it on saturday. however the suspension fault has been there since crimbo, this power lose is new!

My MPG is also down noticed that on Saturday, which is confirmed on other EGR posts.
Dohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. No more, i just can't take any more of these issues, why the heck are these so common, so many issues, common with everyone.
The above is me expressing myself with my head between my legs. Finding out redundant on Friday, wedding next month, compressor faulty, EGR maybe?, forgot to pay CC on Monday £60 fine, audi MAF sensor replaced last week, 60,000 mile service needed on both audi and D3 ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
found a fiver in my pocket looking for my keys though

I still cant get my head around what the EGR is to be honest wiggs. reading alot of old posts plus seen the plates for sale. Is it as simple as buying the plates and no actual repair job?

Gees Tony,
Sorry that you've got such a run of bad luckat the moment.
As you probably know, EGR valves are Exhaust Gas Recirculation valves. As their name suggest, they recycle some exhaust gas through the engine under certain circumstances (in order to reduce emissions).
Sometimes, one or both valves begin sticking, affecting the air/fuel ratio.
If the EGR valves are blanked off, the D3 behaves properly. (On later years, a fault code will still be set.)
I hope that things look brighter shortly,

Thx Bushwanderer , your post makes sense. Will be investigating it on Saturday give it a clean etc and see how I get on, otherwise blanking plates will be the next option.

Thank wiggs. Ordered plates off a nice chap on here and should be with me hopefully for the weekend. Instructions printed, screw driver and club hammer ready, Swear box empty, just await my new plates.
