is there any more detailed data on economy improvement for both versions?
cheers
I dont think the 4x4 version is about performance or economy. Its more a case of getting it out out of the mud. I am as we speak fitting the off road version to my car.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Its easier to clean or will stay clean. The standard intercooler I took off was completely blocked so it would not be working at all ie cooling the air. For this reason my sluggish D3 will at least be back to standard performance and economy.

It probably will as its a lot bigger than the standard one but, as mentioned yesterday my verson is smaller than the performance one.

Taking things apart is no problem, it's always putting them back together

Hi guys,
Just thought i would put up a final post on this from my perspective giving an honest appraisal on my findings over the past couple of months.
I have just removed the allisport fast road intercooler as my D3 goes back on Friday and am now running back on the standard cooler.
The first thing i noticed on a long run today was the lack of mid range performance and a drop in fuel consumption.
kick down appeared more laboured and i also experienced the rev surge that a few guys have experienced and noted on another thread.
This may be due to the fact my old cooler is now back on and is probably past its best, but maybe this also is a factor with guys who have seen this issue and tried gear box flushes etc?
probably just coincidental but worth noting.
2nd was the fairly dramatic drop in fuel consumption, 2-3 mpg down compared to the Allisport version .
In summary would i buy one?..if your using offroad a lot then definately, so easy to clean both versions..(remove the bumper and you have direct access), better mid range acceleration on mine and much improved fuel economy...mine averaged a 10% increase..that in itself should convince you
I know AndrewS has the offroad version so maybe he could chip in with some additional comments?
by the way all my figures were based on an 05 HSE auto with 80k on the clock and a tune supplied by TFC
Happy to answer any questions you may have.

No, you answered that one a couple of months back. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
