If you just have the Webasto oval timer, set the time for burn to 30 or 40 minutes, then programme the timer 'on' time as appropriate for your needs. Unlocking the car at any time during the burn time will shut down the FBH although, if the outside temp is 5 degrees or less and the engine has not yet achieved it's engine water temp of around 75 degrees the FBH will re-start when you start the engine.

Thanks. Will I need the 4 pin plug or the loom or anything else he mentions on his listing? Or can I just buy the item and away I go?D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

The guy selling the timer on ebay will add the 4-pin plug if you ask him (for an extra few £ss). You don't need anything else though. I notice the price of the timer has crept up a bit since I bought mine last December . I think he must be cashing in on the demand for us D3 owners.
Great mod though - have been using mine almost every day since mid December and it has made a huge difference to the time it normally takes waiting for some warm air to be blown around the cabin Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

Thanks guys. I presume that if the timer is set, but the temperature is above 5, then it won't fire, and waste fuel on the warmer mornings?D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)
