Turbochip MPG

Just had my D3 auto chipped and what an improvement easier to drive, loads of power if required and the MPG jumped from 18.7 to 26.7 in only 15 miles of round town driving. This IMHO was due to the fact that I no longer needed that extra right foot to pull away from the lights without seeming like a tractor.

Shocked That is impressive Exclamation Does chipping affect to mapping of automatic gearbox also? Or is just the extra torque at low end of RPM's?

I have noticed on "manual change" that there is no torque locking for 1st and 2nd gear. 3rd gear seem's to be locking when speed exceeds 30km/h. I think it has big impact on fuel economy in urban driving.

Other than this funtionality I've been wery pleased with auto gearbox.

To be honest I never asked but after a afternoons round town driving I am still getting 26+ it has increased the totque a massive amount and also the power the only problem I forsee is me not racing anything from the lights. Laughing Laughing got to be the best investment I have made I got a tracker fitted and was fed up of only getting a registration card and some leaflets and not seeing anything else for my money, i expected this to be worse as i knew i was getting a computer program which I could not even play with but boy my grin just keeps getting wider. Very Happy Very Happy
