Luckily I found out before my 2005 model was replaced and so I removed them and refitted them on my new 2006 model. They are easy to fit if you can get hold of them, the fixings for them are still inside the pillar trim.
Hi Woody,
Are they quite easy to remove then? I know they are quite insignificant but very useful.

Seems to be complete muppetry on LR's side that something so useful should be deleted from the 2006 build.
Next it'll be the Terrain Response, then the Air Suspension!

Hi Mossy,
They are very easy to remove and only took me a few minutes. If you look at the A pillar trim there is an Airbag logo, on the side facing the driver there is a small indentation at the bottom, gently pry this up and it will reveal a torx screw. Unbolt this and you can remove this trim, dont worry about the airbag as it is not attached to this. If you look at the back of the trim you will see you just have to press a clip in and then the ticket holder will slide out. To refit them it's just a reversal of the above. When you refit the trim it can take a few attempts to line it up (making sure that the airbag is not trapped).

Hi Woody,
Thanks for the info. I picked my car up from the dealers last night, so a wee tad too dark to even fiddle. Will follow your instructions this weekend. They are really handy and as I might be parting company with my D3. would like to hang on to them.
Again thank you.

[quote="WOODY179"]qdzcg8,
Here is a photo, a few more in my gallery. There is a number on the clip, maybe the part number - PC2156022800.
Is the number you quoted actually a L/R part number ??Landrover Discovery 3 TDV6 S 7 seat Automatic

Doesn't look like a LR one, could be Ford or Volvo though
LR ones for the Disco 3 are usually 3 letters followed by six numbers and optionally another three letters

Saw the pic. You can buy those little ticket holders from many dealers here in Finland. If I recall correctly they cost about 2-3 € a piece. I put 2 inside my windshield. 1 for parking ticets, 1 for my little shopping notes. How many You guys want, I can send? Jari

Think TFC might be right, I dont think that this looks like a LR part number but I would guess that it is a part number for one of the brands that Ford own.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

The only thing I'm confused about: According to the posts here, Land Rover doesn't offer replacement parts for the existing '05 Disco 3/LR3 tag clips. What happens if it breaks? (Personally, I'd say "no big loss.") If you order the exact same part number for the '05 pillar, it's really missing? I thought all manufacturers had to offer replacement bits.

Here is the good news. I got the part from Volvo today. It appears to be same part and it fits well.
To fit the part gently lever of the air bag sign on the right saide pillar (if thats the pillar you want to fit the new clip to) . Behind the clip is a Torx screw (star shape) Unscrew and then pull the pillar towards you and gently up wards.
It will come away quite easily. Slide the new clip making sure its the right way around . Push it into the pillar at the bottom until it clicks and locks itself in. Gently replace the pillar the same way you got it out. Screw in ,put air bag clip back on, JOB DONE.
The part number if you call your local volvo dealer is 8616658, part name is ticket clip (quell surprise)
Cost of clip including VAT in the UK was the pricely sum of £2.99
Time to fit clip less than 5 minutes.
Freedom from those sticky things at last

If you want to emulate a 'true' 05 model, then order two, because mine has a clip on both sides!

I found another supplier. Some friends came round yesterday (after the snow excursion) and they have a 1999 Citroen Xantia Estate. As they were leaving I was stood talking to the driver and what did I see? I clear plastic clip in the windscreen at the bottom of the A pillar!!!Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Funny that, mine's a 11/04 basic 7 with a few extras (heated seats/windscreen, power fold mirrors, PDC etc) but also badged S.
