I think it will be a trip to Halfords and Mothercare this weekend to have an initial test to see how my daughter fits into the car seats (Britax Eclipse/King Plus/Prince, Maxi Cosi Tobi, Concord Trimax, Kiddy Infinity/Comfort and Recaro Young Sport - all confirmed as suitable for the D3).
Thanks to all who replied.

Discovery 3 "Tank", 2.7 TDV6 - Fully Land Rover Passion edition
LR4 "Enterprise", 5.0 V8 Petrol: now factory style but it will be like that for a long time
L322 "Centurion 3.6 TDV8", Land Rover Passion edition in progress
We had a couple of Recaro seats - not sure what they were known as, but I have one still, though no longer used.
They are excellent in my (kids) view - the bit they sit on is actually sprung, like a proper chair- non of this hard plastic, covered in thin foam, you get on most. Kids have sat in them for miles across Europe with no complaints.
Don't see why they wouldn't fit a D3 - they fitted an Audi A6 and a Defender and also my sister's Octavia.Mark.
2006, D3 SE Auto - gone but not forgotten.
2014 BMW 530d M Sport Tourer.
1977 Triumph Spitfire 1500

I have 2 Recaro Young Sport seats for sale! Excellent conditon, red/black velvet finish, never been in an accident. RRP £154. Yours for only £80 (each). Only trouble is, they're in the Lake District. If anyone wants one and can collect , let me know!

I eventually bought the recaro young sport in black/silver. Looks very nice and my daughter finds it very comfortable. However, it is only secure (tight) in the recline position. In the normal setting, there is too large a gap between the back/top of the recaro and the seat. The reclined back closes this gap.
Unless there is a way to recline the 2nd row seating...
