Temperature Error - shutting down - on Satnav screen
Hello all,
I've had a weired error message this evening. When I got into the Disco this and turned the ignition I got a message I've not seen before on the Satnav display. An overlay square box appeared which said "Temperature Error" with "Shutting Down" a few lines below. The whole car seemed to shut down all displays went off . I'd not started the engine by then so I'm not sure if this would have stopped also. I removed the key, replaced it and turned the ignition back on, everything started up fine and it's not recurred.
The car was parked in the sun all day, but this is the UK in March, so it was only about 14 degrees, certainly nothing to cause a temperature problem.
Anyone seen this before, or have any ideas what caused it?
Cheers
Steve

Thanks Wiggs,
Oh dear it could be quite serious then. I've only got a few weeks of warranty left, I hope it it clears or shows itself before this.

Best bet is to check the diagnostics in the radio

I have the fault codes for the sat nav ..but not for the radio ..even LR dont know what they are
But by doing this then you will have an idea if the problem is comming from the sat nav or radio G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks again Wiggs, I've seen your post on getting the self test screen on the satnav and I'll take a look, but I've not seen the diags on the radio display before, how would I get to this?
Cheers

Turn radio off
Turn on ..within 5 seconds press the right hand black Knob (enter button) inwards for about 10 seconds ...untill you see this

Then press and hold it again for another 10 seconds till the screen changes ...turn the right hand knob either way until you reach the screen with DTC on it ..see if theres anything there .
Switch radio off and on again to get back to normal radio.
Dont go adjusting anything ..just scroll through the different pages ..if you wanna know what any specific page does just shoutG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Learn something new every day!!
Been out to the car and looked at the screens you showed, on the DTC page I have exactly the same as in your picture E00386
Is this normal, or a problem?

Problem
Unfortunatly as i said, LR are unaware of what the codes are ( unless they were telling porkies )
Mine has gone now the head unit was changed .
Take it to the dealers and at least make them aware of your problem ..at least then if it takes till after you warrany expires ..it will already be logged with then as a fault .
Next time you have 15 mins to kill ...without key in the car pop the radio on and see if it shuts down after 11mins 25 seconds ..or there abouts ....thats what mine was doing ..its supposed to stay on for an hour .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
