| Inaccurate Fuel Gauge Reading After Fuel Tank Replacement |

Found out the hard way in subfreezing temps in heavy sleet that the fuel gauge is not reading accurately after the tank was replaced under the recall here in NA. While driving on the interstate at highway speed the truck began to stall and quickly died. Fuel gauge showed slightly over 1/4 tank. Truck wouldn't restart and I noticed that trip distance was 266 miles, which would equal a full tank since I fit the Nitto tires. Called LR roadside assistance and they brought a couple of gallons of gas about an hour later (man was I getting cold by that time). Has anyone else experienced this? I did notice the gauge would move significantly after taking a corner with some speed, but would always return to "normal" after the truck sat overnight (this also after the tank replacement). Other than this, the truck is SWEET, now have slightly over 16k miles. Thanks. was 00 D2 > then 04 D2 > now 05 LR3

Sorry to hear about the issue, glad it now seems to be fixed. I am interested in the fuel tank replacement that you suggetsed is happening in NA. My car has been off the road for 6 weeks awaiting a new fuel tank, LR say they are having difficulty getting hold of them, gues the must all be heading over the pond  Fuji White, Auto with Surround Camera

Same issue here. After fuel tank replacement, when I fill it up it shows OVER full, and it's guesswork from there on. Technicians just not able to calibrate, I expect

After getting a couple of gallons of gas from Landrover Roadside Assistance, my first stop was for a full tank. Like you Michael, with a full tank, the gauge is showing well above full. Truck is scheduled to go into dealer next week, wonder if fuel level sensor is intergrated with tank design and the whole thing will have to be replaced a second time. was 00 D2 > then 04 D2 > now 05 LR3

Got the truck back from the dealer today, the rear 'sender' in the fuel tank was shorted out. LR claims part is replaceable, but tech's at dealer could not physically access the part located within the tank, resulting in 2nd new fuel tank being fitted. It's not very comforting to know that there was a short inside the fuel tank, makes one wonder if a second recall is in the future or this was an isolated occurence. Anyhow, fuel gauge seems to be reading correctly and the dealer did a nice job on the comp wash (truck was really dirty after snow and sleet last week, but it hit 86 degrees F today, are you guy's in the UK having as screwed up weather as we are in the States?) was 00 D2 > then 04 D2 > now 05 LR3

Yes, we are having some weather at the moment. Its cold and snowy in the north, and cold everywhere else.
Roll on the summer, need some heat now.
