Help, before I break something.

Doing the hoovering in the car, decided to empty the coins out the front ashtray. I doing it not so gently, I managed to 'ping' off the brass retainer, which has now lodged itself behind the ashtray, so I cannot close it. I've gave it various tugs and pulls (oh'er Vicar!), but the slider will not come out, which leads me to my questions...

1- Does it come out?
2- If not which I suspect it won't, does it mean a stripdown to get into it?
3- If so, how? From the search facility and some various pics i've seen, it looks like the stereo surround just pops off with some pressure from the bottom either side of the ashtray level, then there are a couple of retaining screws.

Any hints or tips would be appreciated. As i've not got the most gentle of touches, and something will break.

Thanks, John

I've had it all in bits Sad and still cannot get the bloody thing out. Although I managed to retrieve the loose components, so the drawer slides in and out, albeit without the smooth glide action of the spring.

Now rebuilt and I ain't taking it apart again. What a bloody nightmare!!
