Plastic clip for displaying parking tickets gone for ever
On my first NOV 04 LR3 which was a basic 7seater manual but badged an s model I had a plastic clip on the windscreen for holding the parking tickets.
On my replacement model dec 05 a similar model but automatic 7 seater without the s badge it did not have this clip.
I asked my dealer if I could buy this clip and was told I would have to order the whole unit which would include a clip for £20. I did this but when it arrived it did not have this plastic clip attached.
The dealer sent a tech request for info on this item. I got a call from my dealer today to say that Landrover have decided to remove this item from all 06 models. It is no longer available as it is a cost saving exercise.
Shame really because it really does help to keep that sticky glue of the windscreen. If anyone has such an item please let me know.
Shame on Landrover for removing such a great little product. I looked in my local showroom and noticed that none of the vehicles on display had any so it appears to be true. Landrover Discovery 3 TDV6 S 7 seat Automatic

Keeps the number to hand for paying the £8, and there is a handy window for putting car park tickets in ..
Not the best solution, but works for me ................Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

I think Volvo may fit them. My old V70 had them, and my colleagues S60 does too. Maybe the Volvo dealer will have them. I think they just sit behind the A post trim.

lancsamb, I agree it is a shame that Land Rover decided to delete these from the 2006 model - can only have cost a few pence for them. Luckily I found out before my 2005 model was replaced and so I removed them and refitted them on my new 2006 model. They are easy to fit if you can get hold of them, the fixings for them are still inside the pillar trim.

I wish I had known as I would have removed mine to from my old one. The dealer forgot to mention this fact to me . I cant belive such a small item would create such a cost saving. It really was so handy.Landrover Discovery 3 TDV6 S 7 seat Automatic

If all its for is holding parking tickets - I'm sure something else can be butchered or found which will do the same job - I just wanted to see what the 'original' looks likeSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Was in the local "pound shop" this morning - guess what? For a £1 you can get TWO tiny little chrome blobby things with a slot in for this exact purpose...Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I keep my GLASS membership card in the left hand one, and my proximity card for access to the gate in the right hand clip. I just have to drive close and it opens the gate, no having to open the window to get in.
