Loss of power. EGRs? FIXED!! |
|
Need help guys the D3 is sick
She has very little power pre turbo i.e below 2k rpm
Had the s RAC out and was told to replace air flow meter and air filter (Filter was )
It has made All difference Still no power and smoking also under load
Now have read similar posts pointing towards faulty EGR valves and im thinking of blanking them off but
there are no fault codes recorded and no engine management lights on dash etc
Could the EGRs be at fault ?
Need help asap as we are supposed to be away in the tintent at the weekend
come on guys anyone had similar problems? http://tinyurl.com/eBay-All-things-D3-Now

Could be the dreaded, but 1st check the big hose at top of engine is fine, its been known to fail allowing more air into the engine, hence more soot. Its only a guess, and worth a check mind.

Sounds like the EGR's but the smoking under load may indicate something else. Turbo ?
Do you have LR assist? One call they come to you, run a test and presto-hey you know the problem.

Turbo could be, hope not. Thats normally indicated on the dash as "i" "engine system fault". Been there, done that would'nt wish that on anybody.

when my egr failed, had no warning lights, just took 20plus seconds to get to 30mph, then another 15 to get to 62 when the turbo kicked in, was towing a porker back from scotland down to colchester, great fun

Drop Pete Bell a PM, Bellautos, he does a blanking kit for the dreaded EGR's, far easier, cheaper, and quicker to do this if out of warrenty. He's a nice chap, and worth a call for reassurance/diagnosis.
Failing that TFC is with me tomorrow for a service, I will see if he has ideas and ask him to contact you. Drop me your contact details via PM and I will give to him in the morning

discolee no probs.
Also try this man as I have said, not a million miles from you, and just as helpful. If it is the EGR's he will blank them for you and clear any faults
