If think, and stand corrected on this
In the UK it would have to be a goodwill gesture by LR on a recall if they know of a fault, especially a safety issue, and/or, VOSA instigating the recall depending on the magnitude/frequency of cases or safety related NEAR MISSES

When mine went - the brake pedal refused to be pressed downwards. Was rock hard with no brakes. Luckily for me, I had been awake for a few minutes and used the emergency brake feature to stop at the down hill junction
So while they are replacing the steering pump, steering rack and whatever pulley bearing broke today they can now fix the brakes as although the symptoms went - nothing has been replaced "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Checked mine today. Small amount of oil in pipe.
is there an acceptable / normal level, or is an absolute nil?
I have often wondered why D3's seem to suffer immense fade on about the 3rd deceleration in quick succession.
(eg dropping down the hill into St Austell - by the 3rd roundabout there's not a lot of chance of an emergency stop!). Would this oil ingress be the cause? Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Acceptable Level is NIL, its a degenerative issue, I would'nt know how long it would take, but an issue that will only get worse..............................I am sure in thinking though its NOT an issue where you hit the brakes and there is nowt there, but gradully the braking power is lost through oil ingress and vaccum diminishing.
If in doubt, get it checked out

Got mine booked in with TLO .
Only yesterday I had to stop quite quick and after a few seconds of hard braking , the brake pedal became hard , and the brakes were less effective than coming down a steep hill with brake fade from back in the day . Very dangerous

My understanding is the same as MacLeod
I think eventually the master cylinder seals could be affected eventually though.
Does anyone know if there is a new part number for the vacuum pump? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

After reading this topic last week, I thought that I should check mine - finally got around to looking yesterday afternoon............and there's a small amount of oil, not really enough to call it a 'drop', but the pipe was definitely wet inside with something.
Time for a chat with the stealers
What will it need, a new servo and a vacuum pump, or just the servo and seals in the pump ?
(still under warranty until October luckily !) Jim

My Understanding is a NEW VAC PUMP, and NEW SERVO is required. The rest is a flush through with NEW Brake Fluid...................

Unnecessary quote removed
once a week, TBH Matt, once a month is good enough IMHO. Remove the pipe too many times and it will weaken the seal, as its a git to get off/apart anyway, it wont take long to loosen.

Really? I just pressed the footbrake a few times (engine off!) to use up the reserve vacuum and then pressed the coupler button on top of the connection block; drifted apart quite easily I thought. 'course, mine is lubricated with oil Dr. Ian Malcolm:
