Hi Baben,
Some comments on your TorqTuning of my D3. Wow, Wow, Wow!!!!
Since you Torq'ed to my Disco some two month back, and have been experiencing the Difference, last weekend was the first time that I managed to take to the open road.
What an amazing (Much more) vehicle now!
The ability to overake and general drivability has so improved, together with improved fuel consumption.
This is recommended folks!
Thanks Anthony.
Regards,
Mike

Hi Baben,
Having Torqtuned the D3, what would the effect be if I blanked the EGR Valves. Would it require a re-map?
Tx, Mike

Hi Mike
No effect at all - You probably won't even notice any performance increase. At least that was my experience.

Thanks folks. I prefer to do preventative maintenance wherever I can, so I'll do the job.

Having spoken to Heine and Baben, I bought EGR blanking kit from Bell Auto in the UK.
Before I fit it, does anyone know how it will affect my warranty, has anyone had any problems with LR about it?

Hmmmm not sure you can do it on a 2009 . You are probably going to get engine faults. Someone will be along soon I'm sure to confirm this .

Hi Jaseman,
You CAN do it but, as Heine says, you will probably get error messages (and worse?).
I think that the best thing, in your case, would be to carry spare EGRs.

Jaseman,
Firstly the BAS blanking kit, from what I have seen pictures of,
and reading the installation instructions, requires the removal of the
inter connecting piping, which will be a dead give away to the LR tech.
As for the warranty, IMHO they could pull the plug and wash their hands
on you if they found it, but that could be dealer discretion to give you
some slack to remove it.
Being an MY09 you are sure to have electronic issues with the blanking,
there had been a change in the electronics from the MY07 by LR to stop
us from doing it. I have read a thread on a MB site where a guy had
managed to get around this by fooling the ECU with a circuit he build
and added it into the existing one. If we had something like this, you
would be OK, but you will still need to hide it as I had. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Enty,
To me the blanking does two things 1, reduces the turbo lag
and 2, keeps the exhaust crap out of the engine to breath clean
air. If you look at some of the pictures posted on this forum,
you will see what I mean. I had not observed any change in the
power out put or fuel consumption after the blanking. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Hi Guys,
How come you are so eloquent?
Where did you learn English?
I'll go back to the joey pouch now.
