RLD J/can holder
Well have fitted Uncle Rays J/Can holders to my Expo rack after a slight modification and have decided to give it a test run down south today. Have lined the holder with non slip matting to counter the movement and rattles of the Jerry cans in the holders.
Although not a new mod in the big picture of things, i thought i would do some travelling about with them in place. As i am travelling down south today for the LRW event at Eastnor, thought i would see how it goes on the motorway, noise, reduction in MPG if any with everything else i have up there. At the mo they are empty but will move onto filling them and seeing how that goes at a later date, will be interesting to see how the expo rack deals with that bit of wieght in the area I have mounted it in.
Plus with them fitted i have noticed that the D3 gets even more stares off the mere mortals of non D3 owners and a few off some posh D3 owners. POT NOODLE NAVIGATION CHALLENGE 2010 WINNER

Now i didn't think of filling them with water, might be the way ahead. Espeacially if for whatever reason one decides to leak up there. POT NOODLE NAVIGATION CHALLENGE 2010 WINNER

It's hard to tell from the pics, but are you standing directly onto your roof, or some kind of raised platform

Nah thats the swmbo standing on the Expo rails. Being a god to the gym i wouldn't dare stand on my roof, espeacially with the Alpine roof. Mind you i have stood on the Expo and it puts up with me gingerly plodding around up there. But if you mean for taking the photo i was on a step ladder POT NOODLE NAVIGATION CHALLENGE 2010 WINNER

Nice bit of kit M
Just wondering re the 3rd picture - is the can on the right as secure as the one on the left as the band only catches half of it.( Might be a stupid Q I know but looks like it could pop out !)
Is that an RLD wheel carrier too?A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

Tanters, both cans are very secure and after fitting the non-slip matting they don't move at all. Even without the matting you can't get the cans out without releasing the clamp its well in there. Yeah the spare is mounted using one of RLD mounts all top bits of kit and a good price too.POT NOODLE NAVIGATION CHALLENGE 2010 WINNER
