noise when in reverse

noise when in reverse

I have a 57 plate v6 auto , when i am in reverse and on full left hand lock there is a clonking noise comming from the wheel area, does anybody have any ideas what this is.

could be lock stops on the front wheels. Big'ish nubs of steel that bump onto the swivel, and LR grease them, so maybe need to do this.

At worst it could be a driveshaft, but would think its the other

yep - steering lock-stops. There is a pic somewhere. Blob of grease and you'll be all sorted. 2 mins to do it yourself or a very quick trip to a friendly dealer Thumbs Up
