Slight Pull to the left....? |
|
Hi Guys,
My new car seems to have a slight pull to the left .....but only some of the time! I checked the tyre pressures (which were slightly out) and now it is bemusing me - because it's not there all the time. I am aware that the Disco seems to be quite wind susceptable (more than my previous estate) but ..could it also be quite camber sensitive? Or, should I get it checked out? It's not fierce or anything...only slight...just enough to be irritating when it happens. Ideas welcome. Many thanks. 09MY HSE Almond leather with Privacy and Towpack.

Will probably need alignment checked. Mine does the same and is being checked this week. Should have been today but a communication breakdown had me going there today to find no-one about.
Slight pull on flat and gets worse depending on camber and speed.

Lower control arm bush wear will do this too but you will probably have noticed other symptoms like a clunk over large humps. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

My car 08MY was doing exactly the same when I picked it up last week, I dropped it in to my local Tyre Shop they have a very cool laser setup that measures everything to the Nth degree or should I say minute!
Turns out the rear right wheel was out of alignment, causing a pull to the left.
£57.50 all sorted

I noticed that when I took my car to France, it pulled very slightly to the right, so my conclusion is that it's road camber that causes the issue.

Yep I would agree with that, slight left in UK and slight right when in foreign climes. It also seems to be somewhat susceptible to grooves or ruts in the tarmac. A34 is very bad for this. But then my last car was like this it seems to be a function of width of tyre and axle width.
