Genuine boot mats - are they slippery

Daft question - as per title, are the genuine LR boot liners slippery (the flat mat rather than liner with raised edges)? I've got an after market one which is supposed to be from the same factory as LR ones and it's got a real shiney finish. It's proper thick rubber, but almost like it's been sprayed with something like Back to Black or bumper cleaner. I've given it a good scrub with some fairy liquid but no luck - stuff (including the dog) is sliding all over the place! I don't want to fork out for the genuine one if it's the same!

Thanks

Hi J my genuine mat seems fine, just normal dull rubber not slidey (sp), try a degreaser on it. washing up liquid leaves a greasy finish on rubber.

Original ones are actually fairly grippy. SWMBO complains that it's hard to put things towards the back of the boot Shocked She would complain more if the shopping was all over the boot when we got home . . ..

May be a releasing agent from the mold. Call the seller see what they say. I have cleaned some up in the past for an old car with the jet wash - seemed to work very well at getting what looked like back-to-black of them Thumbs Up

mine ( LR original) grips fine for most shopping and boxes, but the dog is happier now a cargo net is stretched over the top! it was £5 from fleabay (the net that is, not the dog Rolling Eyes )

Sounds like it's been finished with a dressing which has silicone in it (hence the shiny and slippy finish)

Buy a bottle of Tesco's All purpose cleaner and make up a mix of 4:1 with warm water. Spray on and rub like billy-O' this should remove it. Thumbs Up

Tesco' APC in the yellow bottle Thumbs Up Tastes good as well Laughing Whistle
