| Fuel gauge and speedo intermittent D3 2008 |

Hi Guys and Gals,
My Disco has a intermittent fault where one day the speedo works and the fuel gauge then the next day one does and the other doesn’t . Ideas?

2007 onwards suffered from cracks in the solder joints on the dash circuit board due to Fords using lead free solder.
Normally it effects the two canbus wires at the top as they are under greater strain but theres no reason that it couldnt also effect other connections too.

Thanks for that - Is there any easy check other than taking the instrument panel out?

You can look for fault codes if you have a diagnostics machine but apart from that you would need to send it away to be repaired to somewhere like Totaltronics or ACtronics. I believe they both test the dash first before carring out repairs and wont charge you for repairs if theres nothing wrong just the postage cost.
