Just bought a fitting kit off TLO. Part number LVUB502880 £29.21 plus VAT and postage. Contains all parts except the lower brackets with the captive nuts on them. Now I see from the instructions I need to remove all the front bumper etc simply to fit these two brackets. Making a couple of brakets is no problem at work, but rather than removing all the front is it possible to perhaps elongate the two holes drilled in the bumper each side to form one long slot and simply fit the bracket through the slot? after all once the A Bar is mounted its stopping there. Any help would be appreciated.

ISTR the newer type of A Bar fitting brackets could be attached WITHOUT taking the bumper cover offSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

How do I tell?? The A bar came to me with no details, Is there anything that I can look for? I assume from my fitting kit I need to fix the two brakets to the front crossmember, sadly LR dont supply any type of the lower bracket you have to make them, or beg them, but for the sake of doing up 2 small bolts into the crossmember I would rather drill extra holes in the bumper and slot a socket through.

Don't know how you tell without the brackets - I had the old type and did the whole strip-down-the-front-end thing...

Hi The Coachman im just fitting my A frame stripped the front down tonight easy job to do, the time you drill and slot the dumper you could have removed the bumper, ive just started making my brackets for the cross member tonight so if i finish them before you start yours i will give you the dimensions if that would help or if anyones got a bracket they could let me know the dimensions it would save me a lot when i make mine.

Actually, about a half of the set is missing. DHL tore the accessory pack apart and I guess, upon discovery of that placed what left into DHL branded pack. I am going to place a claim today. Saddly, tomorrow morning I will be leaving for holidays in Finland/Norway, which was the reason for the bar & spots. (Not that you need any extra lights in polar night )
Does anyone know the price of the new non-winch a bar? Does LR sell the fitting kit separatelly? (just to get an idea what should I ask DHL for)D3 LE James Cook, 2,7 TDV6 auto

Trouble is that the lower brackets are missing (plus two shorter steel tubes, one plastic nut for the top brackets, parking sensors blinds). And because the Czech importer is gone (at least for the moment), I am .D3 LE James Cook, 2,7 TDV6 auto
