I haven't managed more than 5 seconds yet
the guy to speak to on here is Brendan (bkehoe) - he's just got Type Approved on Airbus A320's Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
In my day, I was sent to Biggin Hill, sat down in in a 'cockpit' in front of a screen with a joystick and given absolutely no instructions on how to use the controls - other than being told to keep the green dot in the centre of the screen.
You had to move the controls to find out what they did....... then the tester would switch the controls in mid-test. In other words, when you started the test, forwards was down, left was left etc, then just as you got the dot steady in the centre of the screen, they would make forward go up and left go right etc. Everything would go about face and you had to drive the thing back-to-front until they changed the parameters again.
Worst thing of all was when we were finished we did not get any results. A number of weeks later the letter came through the door telling you to be at Dartmouth to take up a short/med/long career commission.........
About a year later, me and one of HM's sons decided to chuck it all on exactly the same day........ The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

I hope you were not implicated in the rumours of him being of questionable orientation which were allegedly part of the reason for him quitting I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Met him at Britannia when he was there on a 3-day visit from Lympstone. Nice guy and much more down to earth than the other two. Could say more but I'd probably be flogged......
Personally, I don't think he is at all wayward in any department and I think his other half looks a heck of a lot better than most. He simply didn't choose to follow in the traditional footsteps and I can tell you he had no time for the pomp. I think the media (as always) have a lot to answer for in the public perception of 'Eddie'.The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Arrrgggghh!! Hand/eye/mouse coordination is rubbish! 3.8 seconds! Is this why there aren't so many women pilots? If you never try, you'll never know...
