I thinking of ordering a D4 XS, I've been through the price list a few times and I can't justify the extra £6K or so for an HSE when I don't really need any of the additional spec - , and I can add Xenon lights etc to the XS anyway
However my wife is telling me we need premium leather - has anyone seen the 'standard' XS leather ? Is it the same as in my 55 Reg HSE? Is the HSE leather really any better (I'm thinking a few months of kids and dog will muck it up anyway)

Sorry
SWMBO is telling you to spec up your D4, and you are umming and aarrrhing, get yourself down to the dealers straight away before she changes her mind I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I think the seats are 'more' comfortable/supportive (including arm rest) on HSE and are electric versus leather covered GS seats with manual operation on XS.

Premium leather on my D3 8) Don't know what the other stuff is like.Global Warming.... I'm luvvin it
So ONLY the HSE comes with the front arm-rests?? They aren't even an option on lower spec cars, I use the arm rest all the time - if I get an XS it won't have them??
Seats - Leather, Manual are a £1512 option on GS, standard on XS and Not Available on HSE
Premium Leather Pack - Carpet mats (premium), Driver seat memory, Premium leather cubby box lid, Driver power lumber support, Electric drivers and passengers adjustment including squab recline, cushion, cushion height and cushion tilt (8/8 way), Electrically adjustable bolsters front, Seat trim premium leather. Not available on GS or XS but Standard kit on HSE
So am assuming that for £1500 all of the seats are leather and not vinyl sided and suspect that yes the arm rests are only a premium fit.

Arm Rests - something else that was standard on the SE that you now have to have an HSE to get I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Th Oz MY09 SE had manual leather seats but vynal sides (trim?), the same as cloth seats.

Premium leather is much softer (so maybe more vulnerable to damage) and smoother. It looks prettier IMO plus it's got a few tucks, which also look great (don't know how they would look after a few thousand km's on the clock though). To be honest with you, I've only seen it in almond, cannot be sure how ebony looks; I hope equally beautiful, 'cause this is what I'll be getting!
BTW, the front top fascia is not leather on the HSE, its vinyl! However it may be more durable under the sun rays, maybe that's why they preferred vinyl to leather!
Called the dealer to get some more info and he confirmed that they are GS manual ones just fully clothed in leather. So no arm rest!

I have a D3 HSE armrest in my garage, it’s definitely available as a spare part, but if the fixings inside the seats of lower spec cars are there is unknown to me. Anyone willing to pierce their leather and have a look

Going through the D4 brochure again (fantasizing off-road lanes and fords ) I saw that the top fascia bit is not specifically said to be covered by vinyl or leather. Does anyone know if the HSE premium leather version comes with leather for the fascia top bit?
