The photo of the press pic that I posted was only published last Friday, with new grill and bumper (no fogs). Doesn't look like a prototype but misleading all the same. Seen quite a few D4s now so dealers must be getting good stocks in, nearly all HSE. SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE

We're just about to hand over a D4 3.0 GS Auto, therefore I thought that I would have a closer look at the grille and headlight arrangement. As per the note I posted a while back, the headlights and grille are the same on the GS as they are on our HSE demonstrator. More interesting than that is the fact that the headlights appear to have the LED strip (with what looks like the LED's fitted!) however as expected they don't light up.
The plot thickens!
James
PS. As a franchised dealer we would not advise, reccomend or condone trying to wire them up!

Get BBS on the case to switch them on, they're probably already wired up.

It would seem that "The bulbs and the Light Emitting Diode (LED)'s are driven by Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFET's) within the Central Electronics Module (CEM) which is an integral component of the Central Junction Box (CJB)."
So, it may be that a cabling change won't make a difference.
On the halogen lights, even with the LEDs present, the question is if they have a power connector to them, or not. If not, then it would certainly be worth trying to disconnect the sidelamp bulb power and transfer it to the LEDs. If the LEDs are connected, but not working, it would seem to be more like a CJB programming issue.

Ah, but the real question is. If one buys an SHE and hates the LED's, is it possible to switch em off?

Ignore the CJB red herring, the wiring diagram suggests they are on the same electrical circuit. So would be interesting to know if they are wired up or not, and if the non-LED sidelight lamps have the LED Driver fitted - and it may be this that is not installed on these lamps.

I would think they are like that till model year 2011 then reprogram, as all new cars must come with day time running lights as standard,,,,
