Help EPB / Handbrake Stuck On!
Hi - its fun here today, Dog gone awol so wife goes out in D3 to look for her, so she drives with handbrake on as it wouldnt release (bangs head). We got to go to a funeral soon today AND I have tried to release the handbrake. Get some screeching etc but it wont come off.
the handbrake light is flashing.
I have pulled the cable manually (the looped one under the switch) but that has made no difference. Any ideas?
I will search on here.
The car is just over 2 yrs old so I am not sure if LR will come out etc...

Why do you think that LR Assistance wouldn't come out? Your D3 is still well within manufacturers warranty...
Give them a call, explain that the D3 is immobile and why you urgently need a replacement vehicle....I'm sure they would be happy to help.
In the meantime, turn the D3 off, lock it, leave it for 10 minutes and try and release it again, maybe rocking it slightly backwards and forwards at the same time.2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Hi guys!
Do I still have LRA if in warranty ?! ( I didnt know that!).
Well I have got it working! Rocked the car, and get it a harder pull, got a small click and the car is driveable now. Oh and we found the dog ! Hopefully local stealer can fix this now.
thanks

It will be a warranty job and yes, LRA would have come out.

It was just a click. To be fair it has been screeching for a couple of weeks or more (on and off). So should have got it booked in (but lots going on etc).
Surely this is just wear and tear?

All booked in for tomorrow at Chesterfield LR dealer. Here's hoping the warranty is of help!
I think the rear pads need changing so I might as well get those done at the same time.

Fixed under warranty BUT they took two days as didnt have parts in. They said it was veryrare to have to replace rather than mend it. Suprised me!
