Part ex deal offered for a new HSE D3 |
|
I took my 07 D3 SE A1 condition with 22k on the clock to the local Essex dealers this weekend.
In part ex for a new D3 HSE with some extra bling (tv etc) they wanted 23k !!
They quoted me 16 K for a new SE although said they were now difficult to get hold of.
During this conversation they parked the new D4 next to the HSE and there was no contest indeed took about 5k off the price if you asked me and the salesmans face was a picture.
Naturally I walked away 23k for a discontinued model. The D4 looked fine and keyless entry was really nice.
I have asked for a price on a D4 XS ? but am still waiting.

You have to admire the optimism of some of the dealers! Honestly Marge, I wouldn't have done it if I thought you would find out!

they don't seem to be having to try very hard at the moment that is`for sure......my local is heaving with cars being sold and salesmen with the times are good attitude...........
Luckily as I have a 2005 one I am now invisble to them as they don't touch old cars:lol: end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

Compared to some of you chaps I have a pretty lowly 05 plate SE....which isn't for sale !!
However, the dealer near me offered me £7k more this week than they did in February when I was considering a FL2 HSE.....
Pricing at the moment seems so up and down D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Does it HAVE to be new? I would suggest wait a wee while 'til the "must have the new thing" folks have all gone D4 and see how much nearly new D3 HSEs are going for.
I bought my 10 months old 9k miles HSE from a main dealer and paid about 26k for it with tow-bar added as well.
If you really want new, Drivethedeal.com say a new UK supplied D3 HSE can be bought for £37.5k. Not sure what an 07SE is worth but maybe £19k ish based on What Car's bottom valuation for a 2007 07 plate SE of £19.5k - which should leave £18.5k-ish to swap. Or sell your SE privately?
