I've just been "upsold" !
Just done the deal on a D4 Ipanema Sand with Almond leather and all the extras. I went in to get a XS, but there were none to be had for months - but they did have this fully loaded HSE (20" wheels, heated steering wheel, Ipod, surround camera, privacy and tow). Pick her up on Saturday.
I still feel a bit queezy about spending the thick end of £50k on a Discovery
Makes me think that the brand "Discovery" has come a long long way since it launched in the early 1990's.
My first D1 200tdi (3 doors no electric anything) was under £18k and I thought that was excessive back in 1992.
My second D1 300tdi (5 doors and electric windows) was £22k
My third D2 Td5 ES (electric and leather everything) was £24k (imported) - great value
My fourth D3 TDv6s was £32k and I thought I had gone nuts spending over £30k on Disco (with cloth seats !)
My fifth D3 TDv6 HSE was £38k but that was a good discount and didn't seem so mental having got used to spending that kind of money and getting loads of toys
But to now have paid so much for a Discovery - have I gone mad - lost the plot - handed over my marbles - kissed my senses goodbye - or just been seduced by a great looking, brilliantly conceived and totally fab motor ?
But what the heck, maybe my new motto should be - "live now, pay later, die in debt" !Disco 4 TDV6HSE

I sat in a D4 HSE at Stratstones last week. The interior is nicer, but £47K is nuts in this economic climate. If they want to sell volume they'll be discounting soon enough. I'm hanging on.
