I have been using the high beam assist with no problem - really good system.

Got back in the wife's car and actually had to flick the lever for high beam - what a nuisance!

I used the high beam assist this evening coming back over Hartside Pass. Quite impressive the way it can pick out tail lights well ahead of you and turn to low beam. One big flaw though is that it mistakes the light reflected off road signs as an oncoming vehicle and turns to low beam. That is quite a problem when the road sign in question is "Zig Zags ahead" or the reflective barriers around the edge of a particularly dangerous tight corner.

I also miss the adaptive lights. LR announced those originally as "a major step forward in road safety". So the fact they have dropped them as a standard high spec fitting is clearly a major step back in road saftey.

There are quite a few features on this car that possibly falls in to the "just a bit too clever for its own good" category. Keyless entry and surround cameras (as well as High Beam assist) all feel a bit gimicky to me on first impressions - but maybe they will grow on me.

I have these on my wish list but Big Al's problems made me think again Confused

you guys seem to have had better look but it got me thinking of how this feature works. Rolling Eyes

what if the auto headlights come on at dusk when most (manually operated) cars still don't bother to put their lights on.

so if your trailing a car in this scenario would the feature know there is a car in front or would it flick high beam on? Confused Embarassed

I think it's right - we are a Landy owning family - infact some people assume we are a LR dealer and call in asking to buy spares Thumbs Up
